Spring 2026 Feature Update

We've been working hard to make Realtime Colors even better. Here's what's new in this update.

New Harmony Algorithms

We've expanded our color harmony system to include 10 different algorithms:

  • Complementary: Opposite colors on the wheel
  • Analogous: Adjacent colors for harmony
  • Triadic: Three evenly spaced colors
  • Split-Complementary: Base + two colors adjacent to complement
  • Double-Split: Four colors in a rectangle pattern
  • Compound: Base + colors at 90° and 270°
  • Square: Four colors at 90° intervals
  • Tetradic: Four colors in an L-shape pattern
  • These new options give you more creative control over your palette generation.

    Enhanced Export Options

We've added new color space exports:

  • OKLAB: A perceptually uniform color space
  • OKLCH: The polar form of OKLAB
  • These modern color formats provide better perceptual uniformity than traditional LAB/LCH, making them ideal for precise color work.

    WCAG Validation

New automated contrast validation during randomization:

  • Ensures generated palettes meet accessibility standards
  • Validates all text/background combinations
  • Checks primary, secondary, and accent against backgrounds
  • This means you can trust that randomly generated palettes will be accessible by default.

    UX Improvements

  • Better dark mode transitions
  • Improved color picker precision
  • Streamlined toolbar layout
  • Faster palette generation
  • What's Coming Next

    We're working on:

  • Team collaboration features
  • Custom palette libraries
  • Browser extension
  • Mobile app
  • Stay tuned for more updates!
